What Is CIDB?
CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) was established under the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia Act 1994 (Act 520). It is responsible for developing and regulating the construction industry in Malaysia.
Key Functions of CIDB
- Contractor registration — Registering and classifying contractors by grade (G1-G7)
- Construction personnel registration — Issuing Green Cards to construction workers
- Industry development — Improving the quality and standards of the construction industry

CIDB Green Card
The Green Card or Construction Personnel Card is a mandatory identification card for all workers in the construction industry. Effective 15 October 2019, all construction workers MUST possess this card.

- New Green Card Registration — For workers who have never registered
- Green Card Renewal — Renewal of cards nearing or past expiry
- Lost Card Replacement — Application for replacement if card is lost or damaged
- Check Card Status — Check status and expiry date
CIDB Contractor License
All companies carrying out construction work in Malaysia must be registered with CIDB and hold a valid contractor license. Licenses are classified by grade based on paid-up capital and experience.
