Requirements for CIDB Contractor Registration (PPK)?

The following are the requirements for contractor license registration (PPK).

• The applicant must be one of the Directors/Owners of the Company
• Registered with the Registrar of Businesses (SSM/Sarawak/Sabah/ROS/SKM)
• Must have the minimum paid-up capital / accumulated capital as stipulated.
• Meet the Technical Personnel requirements (mandatory for G1 Bumiputera registration) (mandatory for G4-G7 registration)
• Have a Competent Person registered with other registration agencies (if applicable)
• Registered with Other Registration Agencies (if applicable)

Requirements for CIDB Contractor License Renewal (PPK)?

The following are the requirements for contractor license renewal (PPK).

• Same as new registration — refer to all the above.
• One of the Directors/Owners must attend and pass the Integrity & Contractor Code course (for first-time renewal only)
• One of the Directors/Owners must possess a Management (Business) Competency Certificate (for G1-G3 companies without technical personnel during initial registration)
• Must have CCD Points
• Must have a valid SCORE certificate, for G7 renewal only.
• Must have a valid MCORE certificate for G1 only.

CIDB Contractor

CIDB Contractor is a contractor registered with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia, mandatory for controlling construction work in Malaysia. This registration recognizes technical skills, financial capability and achievements of contractors, classifying them by grade for specific projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, enabling participation in government and private tenders, and providing access to training for professional development.

This ensures contractors comply with industry standards and compete effectively in the Malaysian construction industry.

Starting 20 July 1995, all local contractors are required to register with CIDB under Section 25 of Act 520 (Amendment 2011) before commencing or completing any construction work in Malaysia, except those exempted under Section 40(1) of the CIDB Act 1994 (Act 520).

If any contractor violates Section 25 and is convicted, they may be fined a minimum of RM10,000 under Section 29.
