When should I start the renewal process?

It is recommended to start 60 days before the expiry date. This allows sufficient time for document preparation and the CIDB approval process.

What happens if my license expires?

Contractors with expired licenses cannot carry out construction work or participate in tenders. Penalties may be imposed by CIDB. Licenses expired for more than 6 months may require re-registration.

Can I renew for 2 or 3 years?

Yes, renewal can be made for a period of 2 or 3 years depending on your preference.

How long is the renewal process?

The process usually takes 7-14 working days if all documents are complete.

What is the CCD course?

Continuous Contractor Development (CCD) — a mandatory CIDB course. Each grade requires a different number of CCD points to qualify for renewal.

CIDB Contractor License Renewal

CIDB contractor licenses must be renewed before the expiry date to avoid penalties and operational disruptions. Renewal involves three types of certificates:

PPK Contractor Registration Certificate — Must be renewed to remain registered with CIDB
SPKK Government Works Procurement Certificate — Must remain active to qualify for government tenders
STB Bumiputera Status Certificate — Must be renewed to maintain Bumiputera status
